WATERLOO, Ont. - In the final road trip of the regular season, the McMaster women's basketball team earned a decisive 97-71 victory over the Waterloo Warriors.
The Marauders quickly took control of the court, leaving the Warriors trailing. McMaster would hold a largest lead of 26 points while Waterloo led by two early in the first quarter. McMaster had an impressive 29 points off turnovers and had 33 points off the bench, 19 coming from rookie
Emily Frankovic. The Marauders also outdid the Warriors in assists, recording 22 to Waterloo's 12.
Frankovic delivered an outstanding performance as the game's leading scorer while also recording four rebounds, two steals and four blocks. Four other Marauders contributed double-digit scores led by
Delaney Bourget with 18 points,
Cassie Joli-Coeur with 16 as well as
Jenna Button and
Amy Stinson who combined for 23.
It was a historic night for the Marauders. Friday night's win marks the McMaster women's basketball program's 400th regular season victory, making the Marauders just one of four U SPORTS program to ever reach that milestone.
