HAMILTON, Ont. — McMaster wrestlers,
Blayne Helou and
Olivia Lichti, have been named the Marauders Athletes of the Week. Helou and Lichti each performed at a high level on Saturday at the U of T Open.
Men's Wrestling – Blayne Helou (Pickering, Ont.)
Third-year Marauder,
Blayne Helou, dominated at the U of T Open on Saturday. The Pickering Ont., native picked up four victories on the day, securing the gold medal in the 65kg. The engineering major, earned 10 points for the Marauders, defeating each of his opponents with technical superiority while outscoring them 43-1 in the process.
Women's Wrestling – Olivia Lichti (New Hamberg, Ont.)
Third-year Marauder,
Olivia Lichti, put on an impressive performance at the U of T Open. The New Hamburg Ont. native went 2-0 in the 59kg weight class. She won her first match by technical superiority against K-Bay WC and then followed it up by taking home the gold medal with a quick pin against Brock. Lichti's first place performance earned the Marauders 10 points.
