Tight matchup between Marauders and Badgers ends in 1-1 draw

In St.Catherines, the McMaster Marauders battled the Brock Badgers in a 1-1 draw.

The Badgers opened the first half holding majority of possession percentage, but the Marauders quickly stepped to. It was the OUA Leading goal scorer, Alena Spehar, who found the back of the net in the 6th minute to put McMaster up 1-0. In an aggressive first half, the Marauders kept the Badgers tame. Ali Mudie fended the Badgers 9 shots, however, in the 43rd minute, Brock equalized the match with a header off of a corner kick.

Both teams brought the intensity in the second half. There was a glimmer of hope for the Marauders in the 63rd minute, with a free kick right outside of the box. Jade Abreo shot a beautiful bar down ball, but it bounced out, in the Badgers' favour. With a few close chances for both teams in regular and stoppage time, the game closed with a 1-1 draw.

A notable performance by third year Bryanna Caldwell, who anchored the Marauders back line.

The squad generated many chances, and will look to finish their next matchup on top.
