McMaster has found that a student-athlete on the men's basketball team became ineligible for competition due to a brief course load violation of U SPORTS Policy 40.10.3.2. McMaster officials notified U SPORTS upon discovery of the violation.
 
The student-athlete competed in two OUA contests during the period in question and as a result, the team will forfeit its game against Algoma University that took place on January 21^st.
 
The student-athlete's eligibility has since been reinstated after complying with all academic standing requirements. We are maintaining the confidentiality of the individual as we would do in any circumstance involving a student.
