Marauders Suffer Loss Against Carleton Ravens

The Carleton Ravens stay undefeated as the Marauders suffer a 86-56 loss.

Senior Jenna Button led the Marauders with 15 points and six boards in her 34 minutes of play. Stacking the stats, Amy Stinson forced three turnovers, six rebounds, and found nine points. Rookie Emily Frankovic also played a well rounded game posting 13 points with two pairs of steals and blocks.

What started as a shooting drought, continued to paint the way of the game. The Marauders went 0-4 on the first four possessions which was broken by Delaney Bourget's three. By the end of the quarter the reigning Usport Champions pushed their way to a 11 point lead, which only grew larger throughout the game.

Despite the Ravens doubling their lead in the second, the Marauders made them work harder for it. Upping the defence, the Marauders held the Ravens to lower percentages from the field, arch and line, with a minimum 10% decrease in each.

The second half brought a challenge for the Marauders, with a 21 point incline to chase. The third quarter was the lowest scoring of the game for both squads, the Marauders sinking 11 to Carleton's 17. Both teams were posting shots, but many bounced back out. Closing off the quarter up by 27 was the unkindness of Ravens.

The fourth quarter found the Marauders trying to bring the game back in reach. With a healthy 47.1% from the field and topping a few threes and free throws. However, the women in maroon fell unsuccessful as the Ravens grew their perfect record.
