Mike Demagus have been named the Marauder Athletes of the Week.
Women's Basketball – Jenna Button
Jenna Button, a fifth-year member of the women's basketball team, had a career weekend on Saturday night in Burridge against the Western Mustangs. The senior recorded 29 points in the game, a new career-high, shooting 47.6% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range in the Marauders' 84-75 victory. She also added one steal, one block, four assists and nine rebounds. The night before, the Dundas local contributed a team high 11 points versus the Windsor Lancers while leading the team in steals, assists and blocks. The Kinesiology major currently leads the OUA in 3-point percentage (54.7%) and sits second in the conference in both total points (118) and assists (26).
Men's Basketball – Mike Demagus
A fifth-year guard on the Marauders men's basketball team,
Mike Demagus led the Marauders in scoring on both Friday and Saturday night. The Sociology major had a game high 22 points in McMaster's come-from-behind victory over the Windsor Lancers. He also added four rebounds and four steals in the win. The following night the Scarborough local put up another game high with 24 points in the win against Western. He was just one rebound off a double-double and added three blocks. The veteran Marauder ranks fourth in the province in points per game, averaging 20.3, and sits fifth in defensive rebounds with 41. With 142 points this season, Demagus is the second highest scorer in the OUA.
