HAMILTON, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders men's basketball team faced its second northern opponent is just two days.
Picking up a win just 24 hours ago in the 2023 debut, the Marauders looked to make their win streak five. McMaster did just that, dropping the Voyageurs 83-77.
Shooting 43.6% from the field, the Marauders scored 50 points in the first half on way to an 87-73 win.
The Marauders separated themselves early in the first quarter, posting a massive 26 points while holding the Lakers to just 11.
McMaster continued the momentum in the second, shooting 50% from the field while going 5-of-11 from three-point range to make the advantage 50-21 in favour of the hosts after 20 minutes of play.
The Nipissing Lakers battled back in the third quarter, outscoring the Marauders 22-15 but it was the maroon and grey that continued to lead at the halftime break - 65-43.
Both teams battled in the fourth, but it was McMaster who closed out the game with a 14-point lead, as the home squad cruised to victory.
Mike Demagus (Scarborough, Ont.) had a big game, posting a team high 16 points.
Cashius McNeilly (Scarborough, Ont.) had 15,
Khalil Miller (Scarborough, Ont.) recorded 14 and
Mychael Paulo (Brampton, Ont.) added 12 in the win.

The Marauders will now face the Brock Badgers on the road on Wednesday before returning home for a contest with the Algoma Thunderbirds on Saturday. Game time is set for 8PM both days.
