The McMaster Marauders men's and women's wrestling teams found the podium an incredible 10 times at the OUA Championship to earn second place overall for both squads.

 
Among the impressive medal count, McMaster's Peter Shirley was named this year's Most Outstanding Male Wrestler and the Female Student-Athlete Community Service Award was presented to Similoluwa Jayeoba.
 
Shirley earned his outstanding title after claiming gold in the men's 100kg by besting Brock's Callum Knox 10-0, a technical fall. Also claiming a spot at the top of the podium on the men's side was Trystan Kato in the 68kg and Francesco Fortino in the 57kg.
 
Two Marauders captured gold medals for the women's team as well. Jayeoba took the winning title in the 67kg category and Macy Malysiak in the 56kg.
 
Jackson Glasgow and Jonathan Vecchio also made it to the finals in the men's 76kg and 125kg, respectively. However, after hard-fought matchups, each wrestler fell just short of gold, taking home silver. Ligaya Stinellis claimed the only silver on the women's side after competing in the 50kg category.
 
The men's team didn't grab any bronze medals, but the Marauder women had it covered, capturing two third-place finishes. Amelie Clarke won bronze in the 76kg after pinning Western's Olivia Disimone in just 10 seconds. In the 72kg, Isabella Dmetrovich earned the second bronze for McMaster's women's team.
 
Other notable finishes for the men's team came from Gianluca Fortino (61kg), Ali Hammoud (65kg), Bilal Naous (72kg), and Jullian Kato (90kg), who each finished just shy of the podium in fourth place. Howard Moffatt rounded out the competition for McMaster by claiming fifth in the 82kg.
 
Senuki Dasanayaka grabbed fifth place as well in the women's 53kg, while Amber Minutillo (59kg), Sricherry Nannapaneni (63kg), and Saskia Ramaischrand (82kg) each finished in sixth place.
