HAMILTON, Ont. - The McMaster baseball team will return to the OUA West Regional Qualifier this weekend after clinching the West berth at the OUA Championship last year. The Marauders put on quite the performance in 2021, made it all the way to the gold medal game and returned home to Hamilton with OUA silver medals. This time around, the Marauders will once again look to earn a spot at the OUA Championship but will first have to beat some familiar opponents.
  Baseball in the OUA is comprised of fourteen teams from across the province split into four conferences - East, Central, West and Far West.

The West Regional is composed of three teams - the McMaster Marauders, Guelph Gryphons and Brock Badgers. McMaster and Brock met in September for a two game series. The Badgers took the first game by a 10-2 scoreline while the Marauders rallied in the second contest for a 14-4 win. McMaster and Guelph played each other just last weekend. Despite having home field advantage, it was the visiting Gryphons that swept the series (3-2, 12-4). 

McMaster (4-7) will play back-to-back games on Friday, facing Brock in the first game at 9:30am before contending with the Gryphons at 1:30pm. In what is always a tough weekend, the Marauders will look to retain the title of top in the west.
