The McMaster Marauders men's rugby team were setback by the RMC Paladins on the road yesterday, falling to the Kingston, Ont. side 35-5.
McMaster's Marcus Cohoon put the Marauders on the board with a single try, but his team was unsuccessful on building momentum from there.
Despite hard efforts, the Marauders defence couldn't hold back Paladins star player Glenn Butler who racked up the score for the home team. Butler himself earned three tries, as well as one conversion, and two penalty goals. RMC's Tom Weissenborn also found the try zone for his team.
This marks the first loss for the Marauders this season, who have been crushing their competition so far. In a condensed four game regular season, every game matters, but the Marauders sit 2-1 at this juncture. The Marauders look ahead to take on the Queen's Gaels next in their last game of the regular season, this coming Saturday at 5:30pm.
Both the men's and women's teams will meet in Kingston to close out their divisions.
