Men's Soccer: Kovacevic Strikes in 52nd Minute to Earn Draw for Marauders in London

The Mac striker scored his fourth goal against Western this season

The venue changed Friday, but Dusan Kovacevic's penchant for scoring against the Western Mustangs remained the same.

The Marauders fourth-year striker provided his team's lone goal to level the match 1-1 in the 52nd minute and earn a point for McMaster on the road.

With the result, McMaster improved to 2-2-3 on the season, remaining sixth in the OUA West on nine points.

Outshooting the Mustangs 9-7, the Marauders directed six shots on goal and forced five saves from Western goalkeeper Cody Thompson.

After Western veteran Anthony Chrysanthou opened the scoring in the ninth minute, Kovacevic found the equalizer early in the second half, converting an assist from captain Yordan Stoyanov.

His fourth goal against the Mustangs in the teams' season series is also the Oakville, Ont. native's fourth in OUA play this season.

Mac drew 1-1 for the second consecutive match, and has earned points in three of its last four matches.

NEXT UP: The Marauders return home to Ron Joyce Stadium to host their traditional OUA West rivals, the York Lions, on Wednesday, October 2.
