Men's Soccer: Marauders Blanked by Lancers 1-0

McMaster outshot Windsor 9-7 in the loss

Lacking the finishing touch Sunday, the Marauders were punished despite a marked edge in possession and patient build up.

Windsor scored the game's lone goal in the 16th minute, en route to a 1-0 win over McMaster at Ron Joyce Stadium.

With the result, McMaster fell to 4-3-2 on the season, and sits in a tie for fourth in the OUA West division with Windsor, level on points with 14 but with a game in hand.

Celso Carapau scored the game's only goal in the 18th minute, splitting the Marauders defence with an incisive run and firing low past Tristan Joyce in the McMaster net.

His goal came mere minutes after Mac forward Daniel Vicente found himself alone with just Greg Chac to beat in the Lancers goal, but his low shot was parried aside.

NEXT UP: The Marauders travel to North York on Friday, September 28 for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff against the York Lions.
