Men's Volleyball: Marauders Reserves Feast in Sweep of Paladins

Tom Williams had eight kills in his Marauders debut Saturday

Flushing the disappointment of Friday's five-set loss, the Marauders bounced back emphatically Saturday while watching several new faces put in solid shifts.

With veteran left side Andrew Richards leading a rotating cast of younger characters, McMaster rolled through an uncomplicated sweep of the RMC Paladins, busting back into the win column and moving to 3-1 on the season in the process.

Hitting a sterling .386 as a group, the Marauders held the Paladins to just .019 on the other side of the net, and earned 55 points to just 17 for their visitors.

Richards enjoyed another exceptional night, with 15 kills and just two errors on 21 attempts (.619), while adding five aces and a solo block for a match high of 21 points.

Making his Marauders debut, rookie left side Tom Williams displayed his promise, with eight kills and two aces to stand as the team's second leading scorer on the night.

Taking the creative controls from starter David Doty, Pearson Stiller racked up 26 assists and added an ace and three digs in a complete performance.

NEXT UP: McMaster heads to the road to battle the Trent Excalibur on Saturday, November 17.
