Men's Soccer: Ravens Overpower Marauders 3-0 to Advance to OUA Final

McMaster will play in tomorrow's OUA bronze medal game at York's Alumni Stadium.

For a half, the Marauders managed to contain the high-octane Carleton Ravens.

But the final 45 minutes at York's Alumni Stadium were cruel to McMaster Friday, as Carleton put three goals past Mac in the second half to race away with a 3-0 win in the OUA semi-final and consign the Marauders to the conference bronze medal game.

Named the OUA East Player of the Year earlier in the week following his U SPORTS-best, 16-goal regular season, Carleton striker Gabriel Bitar scored a pair in the victory, securing his brace just before the final whistle.

The first goal of the night fell to Ricky Comba in the 52nd minute, whose strike made for an urgent half hour for the Marauders.

Mac directed six shots on Carleton's all-star goalkeeper Nick Jeffs, but were unable to fashion a goal from any of their chances.

Having fallen at the semi-final stage, the Marauders will now conclude their season on Saturday, Nov. 4, when they play the Ryerson Rams in the bronze medal game on day two of the OUA Final Four at York.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium, with the match webcast live on OUA.tv.
