Men's Rugby: Marauders Dismantle Blues 68-7

Mac scored 10 tries through eight different scorers in Friday's blowout win.

Less than a week removed from an injury-ravaged trip to Waterloo and a costly road loss, the Marauders left no doubt in their return to Back 10 Field Friday.

McMaster touched down for 10 tries from eight different scorers, showing off their depth in a 68-7 dismantling of the Toronto Varsity Blues to improve to 4-2 on the season.

With the win, the Marauders held down fourth place in the OUA standings on 17 points, one clear of the Western Mustangs.

The duo of Jack McRogers and Tyler Gagne had two tries apiece, while Mike Smith, Cam Elliott, Max Pinkerton, Kevin Perera, David Kavtiashvili and Jamie McNaughton each added one of their own in the win.

Fly half Will Kelly led all scorers with nine converts for 18 points, missing only once from the place kick.

A consolation try late in the second half got the Blues on the board, with flanker Paul Rekai crossing the line and fullback Faiyaz Lokhandwala making good on the ensuing convert.

NEXT UP: The Marauders travel to Kingston Saturday, October 14 for an afternoon match against the RMC Paladins. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
