Women's Soccer: Red Card Looms Large as Marauders Fall to Warriors 2-0

Box Score A first-half ejection spelled disaster for McMaster on Sunday, as the Marauders spent the second half a player short and fell 2-0 to the Warriors in Waterloo.

Krystal Henry-Mathieu was dismissed on a straight red card in the 45th minute for a foul in the box, which Waterloo's Aysun Osmansoy dispatched for a goal from the penalty spot. Henry-Mathieu's was one of five cards given over the course of a scrappy match.

The Warriors held their 1-0 advantage for the majority of the second half, before Kaitlyn Unger added a second to the tally in injury time to cement the result for the home side.

With the loss, McMaster fell to 2-3-3 on the season, while Waterloo secured their first win of the season to move to 1-6-1.

The Marauders face a tough task ahead as they look to bounce back at Ron Joyce Stadium on Homecoming weekend, playing host to the CIS no. 6-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday, September 27.
