Box Score The McMaster men's basketball team got a big bounce-back win at home on Saturday night, dumping the Toronto Varsity Blues 89-64.
For a team that had dropped its first two home OUA games, the Marauders played with purpose from the opening tip.  Led by Leon Alexander, who seemingly scored at will in the first-half, McMaster held leads of 26-13 after the first quarter and 51-29 by intermission.
Alexander scored 18 points in the first half, while Troy Joseph had 11 and had grabbed 10 boards.
Credit the Blues for competing in the second half, as they played the Marauders close to even over the final two quarters. McMaster won the second half by three points to secure the final margin of victory, and the big lead allowed the Marauders to get the entire roster some playing time.
Leon Alexander finished with 26, while Troy Joseph, who had a double-double by halftime, ended up with 13 points and 16 huge rebounds. A real spark off the bench was Lazar Kojovic, who knocked in 4 of 5 from beyond the arc and scoring a career-high 14 points.
Toronto got a game-high 32-point effort from Devin Johnson.
With the win McMaster evens its OUA record at 2-2 and will head out to play at Queen's and York next week.
