The breakthrough took time, but once the Marauders found it, they held on for a crucial three points.
McMaster's women's soccer team picked up its first win of the young OUA season on Saturday, at the expense of the Waterloo Warriors. The Marauders made their mark in the 85th minute, when first-year forward Taylor Lambert got on the end of a free kick and headed home. The Marauders tightened defensively and kept the Warriors off the scoreboard to move their record to 1-1-1 through three conference games.
McMaster continues its weekend roadtrip tomorrow, when the Marauders travel to St. Catherines to battle the Brock Badgers (0-1-2). That Sunday afternoon clash will kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
