Tips for opening week of Summer Camp registration:
1. Get started! Know your launch dates and find the 'Register Now' button upper-right on our Registration page. You may be taken to a wait page - it will count down your spot in line and automatically move you into the system when your turn comes. Some (but not all) users of the Safari web browser have experienced time-out issues in the past. While all browsers do work, technical issues have been far less common in the latest versions of Firefox and Google Chrome - both free to download.
2. Take a deep breath and click slowly! There's always lots of excitement around our camps. (We're very grateful!) The system will eventually logout inactive sessions, but don't worry: There's plenty of buffer for even the slowest of point-and-clickers amongst us.
3. Camper Information and Friend Requests: During our opening week rush, we turn off the detailed camper information section of registration - makes for shorter waits and a more reliable registration experience. Camper details, including emergency contacts, medical information and friend-pairing requests are collected after the rush - you will be sent a reminder email to complete your information at your convenience.
4. SFS Sport Selection & Waitlists: Sport availability will adjust in real-time based on the selections of your fellow camp families - best to plan ahead with alternate choices in case one of your top 3 fills up. If it does, you may be redirected to the Shopping Cart with a capacity error during checkout. Choose 'Edit Camp Options' in the Shopping Cart and select a new sport. If you don't get the sport you were hoping for, you can join a sport-specific waitlist at any time.
5. Look for a confirmation page and email. If you saw and/or have one or both, you're all set. If you think you completed registration, but didn't see either, don't panic: Move on to Tip #6 below!
6. What happens if something goes wrong? Stay calm. Be patient. Try to keep moving through the system. If you really get stuck, take a screenshot of the page you made it to (ideally one with camper name and selections!), then get in touch with us - we promise we'll bring a human element to the process, working to ensure a fair and easy experience for all users. If you did get stuck and are sure your registration didn't go through, it doesn't hurt to try again immediately to secure a spot in the camp of your choice - it will help when we work to remedy your situation. And, if you do end up registered twice, we will refund your second registration in full (don't worry!).
