Box Score Always a very tough place to play, the McMaster men's basketball team dropped an 87-84 decision to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Friday night in Sudbury.

It was the home opener for Laurentian and both teams entered play with undefeated OUA records. Trailing 22-14 after one quarter, McMaster exploded for 32 points in the second quarter and took a 46-35 lead into the intermission.

The third quarter saw the Voyageurs turn up the intensity and some foul troubles for McMaster allowed the Voyageurs to take a 65-63 lead into the fourth.

The final quarter turned into a whistle demonstration and resulted in a parade to the free-throw line for both teams down the stretch. McMaster had an opportunity to send the game into overtime but could not connect on a game tying three-pointer at the buzzer.

McMaster got a great performance from Taylor Black who finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Joe Rocca chipped in 19.

The Marauders will try to get back in the win column versus Algoma University on November 9th in Sault Ste. Marie.
