London, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team won their last road game of the OUA regular season with a big win over the Western Mustangs by a score of 90-79. Five Marauders hit double digits with Nathan Pelech grabbing the double-double on the night.
Tied up at 19 after the first quarter, McMaster would take the four point lead at halftime. The Marauders proceeded to outscore the Mustangs in the next two quarters, earning their 16th win this season.
Cam Michaud was McMaster's high scorer with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Rookie Aaron Redpath scored 18 more for the Marauders and was accompanied by Pelech's 13 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Black and Adam Presutti both scored 11 more in the win.
For Western, Ryan Barbeau scored a game-high 34 points. Peter Scholtes added 13 and Quinn Henderson connected for 10 more in the Mustangs' loss.
The Marauders head into their final regular season game tied for second place in the OUA West with the Laurier Golden Hawks, who they face at home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Both teams will be fighting for the first round bye and a spot in the OUA quarterfinals.
