Box Score Ottawa, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team fell to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday night in their first game of the weekend in the nation's capital by a score of 84-62.
The Marauders would have to make up a ten-point deficit after the first quarter as the Gee-Gees lead 28-18, and in the second would go toe to toe with the home team, but would still allow Ottawa to maintain the double digit lead.
In the third, McMaster would unable to find any room to close the gap as they'd allow Ottawa to score 21 points to their 15 and the game would end in favour of the Gee-Gees with a score of 84-62.
The main factor for Ottawa was Johnny Berhanemeskel who had a game-high 23 points. Guard Warren Ward would also have an outstanding game for the Gee-Gees with 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Mike L'Africain and Caleb Agada would add 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Guard and veteran Scott Laws was the only Marauder to hit double digits with 11 points. Nathan Pelech would add another nine and grab seven rebounds and second-year Nathan McCarthy would get nine himself.
McMaster takes on the No. 2 Carleton Ravens tomorrow at 8pm.
