MARAUDERS SUFFER SECOND CONFERENCE LOSS OF THE SEASON TO LANCERS

Windsor, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team traveled to Windsor to take on the Lancers in the first divisional match-up of the 2011-12 season. Ending in only McMaster's second loss of the season, the final score was 78-64 in favour of the hosting Lancers.

Defensive play from the beginning of the game allowed only ten points to be scored from the Marauders and nine from the Lancers. Scoring picked up in the second as Windsor outscored McMaster 20-14 taking the two-basket lead at half 29-25. In the third quarter, the Marauders scored 25 points to Windsor's 23 to keep the game close but in the fourth, the Lancers pulled away scoring 26 while the Marauders were held to just 16.

Rookie Aaron Redpath (Ajax, Ont.) scored a game-high 21 points for McMaster and proved to be the most effective player for the visiting team. Team captains Cam Michaud (Grimsby, Ont.) and Victor Raso (Hamilton, Ont.) scored nine each in the loss.

Windsor's Josh Collins picked up 19 points for the Lancers and was joined by Jahmal McQueen in double-digit points with another 16.

The Marauders host the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
