Thunder Bay, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team couldn't handle the Thunderwolves, losing 83-76. Team-high scorer for McMaster was Cam Michaud with 14 points.
Leading after the first quarter by a score of 19-12, the Marauders continued to push on the offensive to lead at halftime by nine at 40-31. Lakehead came flying out of the gates in the third quarter, scoring 25 points to McMaster's 16 and in the fourth, the reigning OUA Champions sealed the deal scoring another 27 to the Marauders' 20 for a final score in favour fo the home team, 83-76.
Joining Michaud in double digits was rookie point guard Adam Presutti with 12 points and eight rebounds and Satar Wahidi with another 11 for McMaster. Rookies Aaron Redpath and Joe Rocca both added another ten for the Marauders.
Lakehead's Venzal Russell scored a game-high 19 points and Yoosie Salhia recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds. Also reaching double digits for the Thunderwolves was Ben Johnson with 14 and Greg Carter with 10 more.
The Marauders look to take down the Thunderwolves Saturday night in the second game of the doubleheader weekend against Lakehead.
