MARAUDERS IMPROVE RECORD TO 9-2 WITH WIN OVER BADGERS ON THE ROAD

St. Catharines - The McMaster Marauders men's basketball team won their ninth game of the season on Wednesday night at Bob Davis Gymnasium over the Brock Badgers.

Brock earned the slight 21-18 lead after the first quarter of the game, but the Marauders really opened up the scoring in the second, sinking 34 points worth of baskets to Brock's 17. Goiing into the second half, up 52-38, the Marauders scored another 30 in the third quarter, taking advantage of poor defence from the Badgers. Despite the home team scoring 30 of their own in the fourth, it wouldn't be enough to over take the now 9-2 Marauders.

Team captain Victor Raso scored a game-high 29 points for McMaster in the win, and grabbed another five rebounds. Rookie point guard Adam Presutti scored 18 points, rookie Nathan McCartht sunk another 17 accompanied by seven rebounds and rookie Aaron Redpath added another 13 points and seven assists.

For the Badgers, Tsing Kasamba scored a team-high 19 points and added six rebounds. Jameson Tipping added another 17 points, Brian Nahimana earned 14, Didi Mukendi scored 13 and Andrew Kraus also hit numbers for a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Taking down the Badgers by a score of 103-91, McMaster now sits in third place in the OUA West behind Laurier and Lakehead who both hold 9-1 records. The Marauders take on the Windsor Lancers on Saturday as part of Marauder Weekend. The game will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Burridge Gymnasium.
