Toronto - The McMaster men's basketball team won their second game of the 2011 season with a win over the York Lions on Friday night. In the 84-70 take down of the Lions, co-captain Victor Raso sunk 24 points worth of baskets.
McMaster lead after the first quarter by a margin of one at 15-14. In the second is when the Marauders really ran away with it scoring another 28 points to York's 13. McMaster continued to ramp up the offence in the third scoring 25 more points for a total of 68 going into the fourth. Despite York scoring 26 in the last quarter of the game, the Marauder's lead took them to the end earning the win by a score of 84-70.
Raso's 24 points were accompanied by rookie Nathan McCarthy's 13 points and rookie Aaron Redpath's ten.
For the Lions, David Tyndale scored 13 and Nathan Robinson and Nick Tufeddic each scored another 12 points.
The Marauders take to the road and head to Laurentian University to take on the Voyageurs on Saturday night.
