MARAUDERS BEAT OUT MUSTANGS BY ONE RUN

Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster baseball team played three games over the weekend, losing out to the Laurier Golden Hawks in both games of Friday's doubleheader and following it up with a 11-10, tenth inning win over the Western Mustangs on Saturday.

The winning pitcher for the Marauders against the Mustangs was Jake Roberts who got the win in relief after coming in for starting pitcher Cam Ryerson (Mississauga, Ont.). The Mustangs opened up the scoring in the first inning with four runs. McMaster would respond with a run in the second and a run in the fourth to begin the catch up process.

In the fifth, the Marauders tied up the game with two runs but the Mustangs would score another three to regain the lead, 7-4. The Marauders would eventually earn the win in extra innings by a score of 11-10.

Scoring runs for McMaster included Colin Campbell (Mississauga, Ont.) with three and Patrick Grier (Guelph, Ont.) and Paul Saville (Dundas, Ont.) with two each. Brandon Hibbert (Etobicoke, Ont.), Carlos Cabrero (Burlington, Ont.), Tory Morgan (Ancaster, Ont.) and Travis Gibson (Cobourg, Ont.) scored a run each in the win as well.

On Friday, in the first game of two doubleheaders the Marauders lost to the Golden Hawks 12-4. Scoring runs for the Marauders was Campbell, Grier, Saville and Morgan.

The second doubleheader didn't fair well for the Marauders either as they got beat out by Laurier, 7-3. Scoring runs for McMaster was Grier, Ryerson and Aaron Prodeus (Stoney Creek, Ont.).

The Marauders take on the Queen's Gaels on Thanksgiving Monday in a doubleheader.
