Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster men's basketball team traveled to Montreal, Que. to compete at the McGill exhibition tournament in preparation of the upcoming OUA Basketball Season.
Cam Michaud was named a tournament all-star along with St.FX's Jeremy Dunn and Tyrell Vernon, McGill's Tristin Renaud Tremblay and Toronto's Andrew Wasik.
On Sunday morning, McMaster took on the St. Francis Xavier X-Men in their last game of the exhibition weekend.
The X-Men lead after the first quarter 21-17, but the Marauders would score a total of 27 before the half to St.FX's 19 to lead by 4 at half with a score of 44-40.
In the third is when the X-Men went on a scoring spree, sinking 32 points worth of baskets to McMaster's 18. In the fourth quarter the X-Men couldn't be stopped scoring another 26 to McMaster's 17 to win the game 98-79.
Four Marauders reached double digits in points, led by Cam Michaud with 15 and six rebounds. Nathan Pelech had 13 points and four rebounds, rookie Aaron Redpath had 12 and Victor Raso had another 10 for the Marauders.
On Saturday afternoon the Marauders matched up with the Toronto Varsity Blues.
Losing 86-78, four Marauders hit double digit numbers in points. Victor Raso had a team-high 19 points in the loss with six rebounds. Rookie Aaron Redpath had 16 points, rookie Adam Presutti had 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds and Taylor Black had another 10 points for the Marauders in the loss.
On Friday, Cam Michaud scored a game high 17 points as the McMaster Marauders downed the McGill Redmen 68-52 to open the 2011 McGill Tourament in Montreal.
Nathan Pelech added 16 and Taylor Black 12 to round out the top scorers for McMaster.
McGill was led by Tristan Trembley and his 11 point performance.
