MARAUDERS WRAP UP SEASON WITH WINS OVER QUEEN'S

Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster men's baseball team finished off the 2011 season with two wins over the Queen's Gaels on Thanksgiving Monday.

In the first game of the doubleheader that took place at 11am, the Marauders were the first to put points on the board with four runs in the first. They added one more in the second and another three in the third to go up 8-0. Queen's would response with two runs in the fourth inning but that would be all they would get all game thanks to stellar pitching from Kyle Angelow (Mississauga, Ont.) who recorded the win.

Scoring runs for the Marauders in the 8-2 win included Pat Grier (Guelph, Ont.) with two, Paul Saville (Dundas, Ont.) with two more and one each from Geoff Strong (Wainfleet, Ont.), Carlos Cabrero (Burlington, Ont.), Tory Morgan (Ancaster, Ont.) and Cole Lewis (Mississauga, Ont.).

In the second game of the day, the Marauders came out on top again in a close game. Queen's would score the first run of the game in the first before McMaster scored three in the second. They would score their fourth in the fourh and Queen's one run in the fifth would not be enough to overtake hte Marauders. 

Getting the win in his final game for the Marauders was veteran Grier with Cabrero earning the save. Morgan would score his third run of the day and other Maruaders getting on the board would include Cam Ryerson (Mississauga, Ont.), Aaron Prodeus (Stoney Creek, Ont.), and Tomas Rincon (Oakville, Ont.) with one run each. 

The Marauders close out their 2011 season with an 8-13 record.
