October 2 vs. Toronto
TORONTO – The McMaster Marauders baseball team wrapped up their conference season today in Toronto with a 7-1 win and 0-5 loss to the Varsity Blues on U of T’s Scarborough Campus.

The Marauders got out to a good start in the first game of the day, building a 5-0 lead after three innings of play. U of T’s lone run came in the fifth, only to be answered back by two more McMaster runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

Jonathan Isaac led Toronto with three hits, one RBI and two stolen bases in the loss.

McMaster’s Andrew Morales had three hits, one RBI and one stolen base, while Andrew Cochran had two hits and one RBI. Kevin Cleland added one hit and two RBI in the win.

Morales now sits in second in the OUA with a .563 batting average trailing only Guelph’s Joshua Kennedy.

The second game of the day was a much different story. Toronto native Ryan Donnelly earned the shutout win on the mound, allowing only three hits in six innings of work.

The Blues opened the scoring with one run in the third and added four more in the fourth to round out the 5-0 win. Brent Page of Hamilton, Ont., led the team with two hits in the victory.

McMaster completes the 2010 conference season with a 5-9 record for 15 points and seventh place finish.
