McCarthy – a rookie outside hitter from Oshawa, Ont. – played a pivotal role as the Marauder men's volleyball team continued its unbeaten conference run over the weekend. He contributed 6.5 points in the team's straight-set win over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, including three service aces and two kills. But it was on Saturday that McCarthy enjoyed his greatest success. With the Marauders battling through a tough, five-set win, the rookie led all scorers with 21.5 points and converted 17 of his 30 hitting attempts with only four errors (43.3%). He added two more aces in the win, including a set winner in the second.
