Campbell put in a pair of exceptional performances on the mound Saturday to help her team move into Sunday’s medal rounds at the OIWFA Championship hosted by McMaster at Rosedale Park.

After the Marauders suffered an 8-3 loss to Brock to open the tournament Friday, they needed a pair of victories Saturday to remain in title contention. The second-year pitcher and short stop Campbell duly delivered, pitching seven sterling innings in McMaster’s 6-3 win over Ryerson to open Day 2.

She allowed just five hits and three earned runs in seven innings, while notching five strikeouts and six put outs. Offensively, Campbell chipped in two hits, an RBI, a run and two stolen bases.

Later that same day, she was the starting pitcher in Mac’s 18-4 win over Toronto and pitched three and a third innings allowing three runs on four hits and collecting two strikeouts and five put outs. On the other side of the ball, Campbell had three hits in five at bats and notched an RBI and two runs.

Ultimately, McMaster ended the weekend with bronze, climbing the podium for the first time since 2016.
