The fourth-year Nursing major won gold at the season-opening Bob Vigars Open meet in London, leading the pack in the 3000m event in a time of 10:12.04 which narrowly beat out Laurier’s Bettina Boucher. Mawhinney topped a group full of Marauders, including teammate Emily Nowak, who won bronze behind her.
