Lyons enjoyed a performance for the ages Saturday, as McMaster outlasted Queen’s for a 12-9 quarterfinal win at Ron Joyce Stadium. The third-year Labour Studies student matched an OUA playoff record with a total of 39 carries in the victory, racking up a total of 319 yards along the ground which stood second all-time in a Canadian University football playoff game, just eight yards shy of a national record.

The running back’s efforts helped the Marauders grind down the Gaels on a soggy afternoon, on which mounting a passing offence proved difficult.
