Sidelined after the opening weekend of the OUA season, goalkeeper Deanna Persico was forced to watch as the Marauders struggled in her absence. But she returned to the lineup on September 21 and made her influence felt immediately, saving 11 shots and backstopping Mac to its first win of 2016 against the Brock Badgers in St. Catharines.

Persico was back in fine form on September 25, stopping all eight shots that she faced to record her second consecutive clean sheet, as the Marauders shut out the Waterloo Warriors 2-0 to win their second straight game on the road.
