Chris Markou makes his debut on the sidelines this fall, when the 2022 OUA men's soccer season kicks off in September. Markou fills the interim role after spending the past season with the team in an Assistant Coach capacity.
A former Marauders men's soccer player, Markou was a two-time CIAU all-Canadian and OUAA all-star, capturing the OUAA championship 1992. He helped lead his team to a pair of CIAU silver medals from 1992-93, as well as a CIAU bronze medal in 1995, being named to the all-tournament team that season.
Internationally, Markou represented McMaster and Canada at the World University Games in Fukoka, Japan in 1995. For his illustrious career, he was inducted into the McMaster Sport Hall of Fame with the class of 2008.
Beyond McMaster, Markou is the owner of Futbol Plus, a Hamilton based player developmental program that focuses on preparing high performing athletes between the ages of 10-16 for university and collegiate programs across Canada, and the United States.
