Coach Bynum joined the Marauders coaching staff in 1994, and starts his 21st year on the McMaster bench. A native of Tulsa and graduate of Oklahoma State University, Coach Bynum moved to Canada in 1984. He coached both basketball and football while teaching at Burlington Central High School and he is currently a teacher at the Syl Apps Centre in Oakville.

Bynum has served as the co-director of the McMaster summer basketball camps for the last several years, and along with his coaching duties he is the lead recruiting assistant on staff. His organized and professional approach is a definite asset for Coach Connolly to employ in various ways. Rod and wife Madeleine are Burlington residents, and he is especially proud of his son Michael, who was recently hired as Director of Player Development for the San Diego State varsity women’s basketball team.
