Chris Puskas

Chris divides his time between treating in the David Braley Sports Medicine Clinic, Supervising Student Field Therapists and serving as Head Therapist with the Varsity Men's Football team.

Chris worked in the Canadian Football League for seventeen years: three years as the Assistant Athletic Therapist with the Toronto Argonauts (1994-1996) and fourteen as Head Athletic Therapist with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1997-2010).

Chris has been a part of three National Championship teams: the Grey Cup winning 1996 Toronto Argonauts, the 1999 Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 2011 Vanier Cup Champion McMaster Marauders. 

Chris’ education/designations include: an Honours Degree, Physical and Health Education (1993) from Laurentian University; Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College (1996), Membership into the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (1996), Diploma in Acupuncture from the Centre of International Holistic Studies (1998) and his Doctorate in Acupuncture, World Health Organization (1998); Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (2004), Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology (2010).

As well as being a Sports First Responder, Chris has also completed courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Strain Counter-strain, Functional Myofascial Release, Myofascial Stretching, Articular Pumping, Muscle Energy and Soft Tissue Release.

From 2000 to 2004 Chris instructed at Sheridan College in both Manual Therapy Techniques and Protective Equipment. Chris continues to be a guest lecturer for many area Sports Organizations and Educational Institutions.

Chris is proud to follow both his father Frank (Geology) and his mother Toni (Dean's office) to McMaster University. 

Chris resides in Hamilton, Ont. with his wife Crystal, and sons Noah, Benjamin and Joshua.
