Kick off the new year with the Marauder Momentum Career Development Symposium

Join us on Sunday, January 11 from 9:00am to 1:00pm in Fitzhenry Studio (DBAC 3rd floor) for an inspiring half-day event featuring a panel of former Marauders turned industry leaders and tailored workshops designed to help student-athletes transition from the field to the professional world. Connect, learn, and network with experts from PepsiCo, Stryker, Hamilton Police Service, and more—don't miss this opportunity to power your career forward!

($5 registration fee - Lunch and snacks included)

Features a panel discussion with former Marauders:

  • Dave Moncur – former Men's Football player and Vice President, Human Resources for PepsiCo

  • Erin Muldoon – former Women's Volleyball & Rugby player and Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition for Stryker

  • Andrew Zvanitajs – former Men's Rugby player and Chief of Fire, City of Vaughan

We'll also be offering tailored workshops for student-athletes, choosing from two of the following:

  • Game-Ready Grit: Transitioning from Athlete to Professional
    • The session hosted by PepsiCo Canada is designed for student-athletes to explore how the skills you've developed on the field - discipline, teamwork, resilience etc., can give you an edge in summer jobs, classroom success, and future career opportunities. We'll dive into how to market your athletic identity, build your personal brand, and leverage transferable skills to stand out in interviews, group projects, and networking. Get ready to turn your athletic strength into lifelong success!

  • Team-Based Values in Policing and Emergency Services
    • Hosted by the Hamilton Police Service, learn about transitioning from team sports to emergency services and the valuable skills you have already developed that can help you be successful in this career path.

  • Planned Happenstance
    • Hosted by the Student Success Centre, this session will dive into how the Planned Happenstance model can help you with your career development journey. It's a theory that focuses on your attitudes and actions during the career development process. Join us to discuss how five key traits (curiosity, persistence, flexibility, optimism, risk-taking) can help you navigate your career.

  • Building Resilience in the Workplace
    • Learn practical strategies to strengthen your ability to adapt and thrive in challenging work environments. In this session we’ll discuss how to channel the resilience, discipline, and mental toughness you’ve built as an athlete into an advantage for managing stress, staying focused, and succeeding in your career.
