Matt is an active Kinesiology student at McMaster who continues to seek out new experiences and knowledge in the field of strength and conditioning, sports medicine and therapy. Throughout his time at McMaster, Matt has not only focused his efforts towards academics but has also integrated his background in sport to make an impact on McMaster athletics.
Matt has previous experience as an athlete himself, having played competitive levels of basketball, hockey and baseball. Over the past two years at McMaster, Matt has worked with the Wrestling team as a strength and conditioning coach and with Men’s Soccer as a team therapist. He has had an amazing time working with Wrestling over the years and has watched them grow and achieve at a national level. He has learned a lot from this and he will definitely miss working with the team.
Last season, Matt worked as a team therapist for Men’s Soccer and had great experiences working and traveling with the team throughout their season. For their 2011 season, he will be back as their new strength and conditioning coach in addition to his role as team therapist. Matt is honoured with the opportunity to work with them at a greater capacity and hopes to help ignite the team in their drive to nationals in 2011!
