Student Athlete Information

The following steps must be completed in order to process a student-athlete's athletic & medical clearance.

1. ATHLETE REGISTRATION - REQUIRED 7 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR TEAM'S FIRST COMPETITION
Every student-athlete participating on a McMaster University team (including clubs), must register through MARS (McMaster Athlete Registration System). This on-line system requires you to log-in using your MAC ID and fill out all the necessary forms for participating on a McMaster athletic team (eligibility, code of conduct, medical, etc.)

You can access MARS through MOSAIC then within Student Centre, scroll down to the Personal Information section. From the drop down menu on the left hand side, you will see “Sports Registration”. Select that, then click on the double arrow button. Proceed to select your sport and complete the outlined steps.

To avoid any eligibility issues, all sections must be completed at least 7 days prior to the team's first competition (exhibition or league).

2. MEDICAL SCREENING - REQUIRED 5 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO TRY-OUTS/TRAINING CAMP
All student-athletes are required to be medically cleared before they are considered eligible to compete. Completion of the appropriate medical screening procedure is required 5 business days prior to the start of try-outs/training camp to avoid any delays in your athletic clearance.

Student-athletes are required to fully complete the on-line medical history questionnaire, medical insurance and physical examination for sport medicine staff to review.

All first-time McMaster student-athletes are required to have a full medical examination completed by a physician.

3. CCES ANTI-DOPING - CIS SPORTS ONLY - REQUIRED 7 DAYS PRIOR TO TEAM'S FIRST COMPETITION
CIS student-athletes are required to annually complete the CCES Online Education. If you are a returning user, you can complete it at: http://onlinelearning.cces.ca. New users are required a McMaster-specific enrollment key and password which typically becomes available in July of each year.

If there are any outstanding areas within your registration process, you will be contacted by the Athlete Services Coordinator.
