HAMILTON, Ont. — On Saturday, the McMaster Marauders (5-2-2) kicked off their weekend double header vs Algoma University (0-0-9). The Marauders would record 19 shots on goal in their 6-0 win over Algoma in the first match.

In honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day happening on September 30th, the Marauders walked out in orange shirts.The Marauders found chances early on in the third minute with a cross into the box for Mea Martel (Ottawa, Ont.) who kicked it just wide. McMaster's Jade Abreo (Mississauga, Ont.) also came close, sailing the ball just over the bar in the eighth minute. Martel would also make a nice run down the sideline and finish with a chance on net in the 13th minute. 

Ali Mudie (Burlington, Ont.) started in net, making a great kick save early on to keep Algoma off the board. Alena Spehar (Milton, Ont.) would also find some chances in the first half with one hitting off the post in the 21st minute.  The first goal would come off the foot of Abreo in the 27th minute, tucking it in the bottom corner. Soon after in the 32nd minute the Marauders would add to their lead when a corner by Abreo connects with Kiarra Bailey (Burlington, Ont.) putting them up by two. 

The Marauders would add one more goal to the scoreboard before half when a corner kick fell to Spehar and she found the top corner for McMaster's third goal.

Early in the second half Spehar would feed Abreo in the box and Abreo added to the Marauders lead with some nifty moves allowing her to easily tuck the ball in the net for her second goal of the game. Abreo would also take many astonishing free kicks for the Marauders, with one leading to the fifth goal, which was headed into the net by Bryanna Caldwell (Tottenham, Ont.) in the 56th minute. In the 78th minute, Molly Palladino (Mississauga, Ont.) caught the goalie out of the box and easily finds the back of the net for the sixth and final goal of the game.

On Sunday, the McMaster Marauders (4-2-2) faced Algoma University (0-0-10) for a second time this weekend. and won by a score of 5-1. 

Jana Febbraro (Hamilton, Ont.) made the start in net for McMaster.McMaster wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Mia Paiement (Hamilton, Ont.) put the Marauders up 1-0 in the 2nd minute of play. Jade Abreo (Mississauga, Ont.) would get the assist. In the 5th minute Lindsey Barwitzkiand (Sarnia, Ont.) sent a cross into the box and it was volleyed into the back of the net by Abreo, which put McMaster up by two. Before the end of the first half, McMaster would add a third goal by Mea Martel (Ottawa, Ont.) with Abreo, again getting the assist. Abreo would record two assists and one goal in the first half, adding to her point total and keeping her atop the OUA list for assists. Algoma was able to sneak one past the goalie right before half, making the first half score 3-1 for McMaster.

Jenine Alkhatib (Ajax, Ont.) started in net in the second half for the Marauders. McMaster started off the second half strong with a goal by Bryanna Caldwell (Tottenham, Ont.), and yet another assist by Abreo. Abreo would add another goal to the Marauders score to beat Algoma 5-1.The Marauder win streak against Algoma now moves to 19 straight wins.
