McMaster Performance to host 3rd annual Performance & Wellness Workshop May 24-25

HAMILTON, Ont. - McMaster Performance is hosting its third annual Performance & Wellness Workshop May 24-25, 2024.

Led jointly by the Department of Kinesiology and McMaster Performance, the McMaster Performance & Wellness Workshop is a collaborative event aimed at uniting professionals across various disciplines focused on performance and wellness. Welcoming members from both the McMaster and Greater Hamilton communities, the workshop caters to individuals interested in rehabilitation, sport performance, fitness, coaching, biomechanics, nutrition, and wellness.

Building upon the success of the previous events, this year's workshop promises an array of enriching experiences where participants can expect a blend of hands-on workshops, classroom-style sessions, engaging talks from esteemed speakers representing both academia and industry, and ample networking opportunities with leaders in their respective fields.

The objectives are to: 
  • Deliver a comprehensive professional development platform catering to therapists, sport scientists, coaches, educators, personal trainers, and aspiring students keen on pursuing careers in these fields
  • Introduce undergraduate students to the vibrant disciplines of the performance and wellness space by facilitating connections with established professionals in the community
  • Recognize outstanding undergraduate talent through financial awards, enabling them to engage in experiential learning and research within the domains of sport performance and medicine alongside Marauder athletic teams and student athletes
  • Showcase the efficacy and significance of collaborative learning and translational research by providing students with avenues to exhibit and present their research findings during the workshop
