WINDSOR, Ont. —To end their home opener weekend, the Windsor Lancers (1-4) hosted the McMaster Marauders (0-5).
McMaster lost 75-95
Windsor got ahead early in the first quarter but Anthony Warzeszcz (Mississauga, Ont.) got the Marauders going with a three pointer. Moody Qasim (Mississauga, Ont.) made a three point play as well, laying it in for two plus the foul. Ay Osunde (??Scarborough, Ont.) followed up with another three to cut Windsor's lead to seven just before the end of the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter Tre Edwards (Hamilton, Ont.) made it a 2 possession game with a three. Jeremiah Francis (Surrey, B.C.) would hit a corner three to energize the Marauder offensive. Coming out of a timeout, later in the quarter, Daniel Graham (Hamilton, Ont.) would sink a three as well. The Marauders would go into half time down 37-61.
Qasim wasted no time adding a three to the scoreboard after halftime. Tyler Garcia (Mississauga, Ont.) would dribble into space and hit a jumper shortly after. Edwards hit a three near the end of the third quarter, but the Marauder still trailed the Lancers 60-91 going into the fourth.
McMaster made threes to start and finish the fourth quarter but failed to close the distance in the end, losing 75-95 to the Lancers.Â
