The Marauders dominated over the York Lions on Saturday night on the road in a 76-55 win. They bested the score differential from their last meeting with the Lions, which was an 82-74 win for McMaster earlier this month.  

Fifth year Jenna Button dominated on offense for McMaster, leading the away team with 18 points, including two three-pointers. First year Emily Frankovic, who has had a great rookie season so far, put up 16 points, including six free throws. Fourth years Deanna Mataseje and Amy Stinson each made two three-pointers, with Stinson and Delaney Bourget both making 10 rebounds.  

Despite the Lions opening with the first jump shot of the game, Button was quick to put the Marauders on the board, tying the teams 2-2. Mataseje put up McMaster's first three of the game, lighting up the Marauder bench. Button pulled through with the next two threes of the first quarter, helping the away team find a huge lead. The away team ended the first quarter with a persuasive 25-15 lead.  

The second quarter started out scoreless, but Stinson managed to put up a three to increase the point differential for McMaster. The teams both struggled with missing their shots, and York was able to keep up. The Marauders held a lead going into halftime 40-28. 

The third quarter was close with 15 points put up by each team. The Marauders made six free throws, with four coming from Bourget. The teams finished the third set 55-43.  

Mataseje put up the first two baskets for the Marauders in the fourth set, as they drove the game home with 21 points in the last quarter. Frankovic made two great jump shots mid-quarter, thrilling the away bench. The Marauders ended on top, with a score of 76-55.

The Marauders will look forward to facing off against the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay next Friday night.
