McMaster win 2-0 and shut Laurier out in double header

Box Score The Marauders were back to action and shut out the Laurier Golden Hawks 2-0.
 
The Marauders protected home turf and brought the heat. The team played very cohesively generating great opportunities.
 
The home team opened the score sheet in the 25th minute. Bryanna Caldwell received a ball off a corner kick, which was met by the hands of Laurier's keeper. Sara Vogel found it again and tapped it in for the Marauders. On a high after the goal, McMaster ran in back and nailed another ball in, off of a penalty kick. Third Year, Jade Abreo stepped up and scored for the Marauders.
 
With a 2-0 lead going into the second half, the McMaster Marauders were playing very defensively while the Laurier Golden Hawks kept on pressing. The Golden Hawks thought they had a shot, as they stepped up to the penalty kick line in the 84th minute but Ali Mudie stepped up to keep the shutout.
 
What's Next?
 
The Marauders will hit the road to play the York Lions on September 29th with hopes of adding another game to the current three-game win streak.
