WINDSOR, Ont.
- In a contest between two defensive powerhouses, the McMaster Marauders men's basketball team fell 92-9 to the Windsor Lancers on Saturday afternoon at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
The back-and-forth contest saw the Lancers with a narrow two-point lead after the first quarter but the Marauders rebounded with a solid second quarter. Windsor put up 34 points in the third and despite a last minute push by McMaster in the final frame, Windsor escaped with a one-point victory.
Despite the loss, McMaster shot the ball well, averaging 47 percent from the field. The two squads matched each other with 36 field goals apiece but it was free throws that made the difference for Windsor as they nailed nine shots from the line to seven for the visitors. It was a close contest throughout the 40 minutes of play with seven ties and ten lead changes.
Leading the Marauders offensively was
Mychael Paulo who finished with a team-high 25 points. Paulo added four rebounds, two assists and two steals to complete his stat line.
Mike Demagus,
Khalil Miller and
