Box Score The McMaster Marauders women's basketball team fell 71-65 on Wednesday evening to the TMU Bold.
Both teams headed into the match with respective perfect, 2-0, records, but it was TMU that came out on top to guard theirs scratch-less card.

The first quarter saw the Bold playing a defensive full court press, which flustered the Marauders. As the quarter went on the Marauders started to find their footing, and by the end of the 10 minutes went on a seven point run to cut the Bold's lead to two, at 17-19. The second quarter was the highest scoring for both teams with 21 points for Mac and 27 for TMU, putting the game at 38-49.
The second half found a similar rhetoric, with the Bold holding the lead and the Marauders holding their own. The Marauders found ways to slow them down, by ramping up their defense. Many a times the women in Maroon were able to bring the game back to a one possession deficit. Despite outscoring the home team 14-8 in the fourth, the Marauders were unable to beat the highlight defensive TMU Bold, and fell 65-71.
The Marauders' bench had a great game with 21 points collectively. It was points in the paint that the squad was unable to sink, as the Marauders put up 14 to the Bold's 42. Capitalizing off turnover points was something the Marauders succeeded at this matchup, finding 14 points from the Bold's errors. Equally, TMU grabbed balls off the board to hammer in 16 2nd chance points overall. Although TMU led for almost 38 minutes of the game, the margin was never more than 15.
