HAMILTON, Ont. –  After making their national debut in the number ten spot, the Marauder women are looking strong as they prepare for two away games this week first taking on the Western Mustangs on Wednesday and then the Windsor Lancers on Saturday.  

Western vs McMaster

McMaster and Western are familiar foes, having battled twice during the 2021-22 regular season. In the first match-up, it was a tight back and forth game, however it was  McMaster who took the victory, ending the game 69-61. Western came back with a vengeance in their second match-up beating the Marauders 59-69.

Western is coming off of back to back games against the Toronto Varsity Blues and the TMU Bold. Western ultimately came out victorious in an extremely close 61-60 game against the Blues and fell 65-95 against the TMU Bold.

After traveling to London, the Marauder women then continue on the road, as they head to Windsor to face the Lancers this Saturday.

Windsor vs McMaster

The Lancers and the Marauders faced off twice last season with McMaster dropping Windsor in both games. In the first match-up, the Marauders came out strong, setting a 14 point lead in the first quarter. McMaster continued to control the game winning 97-66. In their second game, McMaster continued to dominate the Lancers, winning 72-58.

Windsor is coming out of this past weekend with one loss and one win, after losing 63-70 to the TMU Bold, and beating University of Toronto 72-50.

The Marauders battled the Laurier Golden Hawks this past Friday, beating the Golden Hawks 86-71. Three Marauder women scored in the double-digits. Sarah Gates (Newmarket Ont.) lead in scoring, posting 27 points while Cassie Joli-Coeur (Johnstown, Ont.) put up 12 points and Jocelyn Newby (Guelph, Ont.) posted 11 points.

McMaster is currently 12-4 and look to add to their current seven game win-streak this week.
