HAMILTON, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders women's basketball team will play in front of a home crowd once more before traveling for four back-to-back road games. Wilfrid Laurier vs McMaster
Burridge Gymnasium | Hamilton, Ont.
January 27th, 2023 @ 6pm
The Marauders and Golden Hawks competed in the same division for the 2021-22 OUA season. The two squads last met in Waterloo, Ont. on March 9, 2022. It was a close game that night but the Marauders earned the win with a 78-72 final score.
Amy Stinson led all scorers with a career-high 25 points on the night, stuffing the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one assist.
Jenna Button shot an efficient 6-of-11 from the floor, good for 18 points on the night while
Cassandra Joli-Coeur poured in 13 points off the bench, shooting 6-of-9 on the night. With one third of the 2022-23 campaign remaining, Wilfrid Laurier is looking to get back in the win column after dropping four of their last five games. The Golden Hawks defeated the TMU Bold 70-63 on January 14th but fell to the York Lions last weekend by just a single basket. This weekend, the Golden Hawks will aim to end the Marauders' success at home. The Marauders hold the all-time series advantage, 52-18, and have come out on top in nine of the last ten contests.
McMaster currently sits at 11-4 on the season and is the OUA Central leader. With just seven games left in the regular season, the maroon and grey will look to make the most of playing at home and add yet another win to their resume.
